Join our team of volunteers to with tax return preparation!

Alliance is providing assistance for tax preparation to low income people through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) Program. We will be assisting low income families and refugees from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and other countries with their federal and state income tax. If you are interested in learning more about income taxes, work with low-income families needing support, and get great experience in the accounting field, why not joining our team of VITA volunteers?

These are the areas you can help with:

a. Greeter, intake interview and/or interpreter – need to pass two simple tests on standards of conduct and intake interview.
b. Basic Level Tax Preparer – need to pass tests on standards of conduct, intake interview and basic tax preparation.
c. Advanced Level Tax Preparer – need to pass tests on standards of conduct, intake interview and advanced level tax preparation.


Basic and advanced training will be provided in January 2019. Interns will need to pass basic and ethics training, which will be provided in January 2019. Must be over the age of 18 years old.


With this internship, not only do you get to experience the joy of giving back to others while building your resume, you will receive 1 credit for continuing education and a reference letter for your services.
